YES WE ARE OPEN DURING CONSTRUCTION!!!
The City of Carmel is currently constructing a roundabout at the intersection of 126th and Rangeline Road, which makes it a little harder to get to Carmel UMC and the Food Pantry. The entrance to our parking lot on 126th Street is accessible from those driving from the EAST (Keystone Pkwy). If you're arriving from any other direction, you can get to our parking lot from 6th Street SE (the north side of the Church) - just following the parking lot around the back of the church to the mission house.
The CUMC Food Pantry uses over 1,000 paper grocery bags a month. We always need bags for our guests to carry their food. Would you be willing to hold a paper bag drive at your work, school or in your neighborhood?
The third Friday of every month, Gleaner's Food Pantry will bring their Mobile Food Pantry to CUMC to deliver a fresh produce, meat, and bakery goods to be distributed. This distribution does NOT count toward a family's monthly distributions!!
to Volunteer for Gleaner's Day!
Every Wednesday morning the Food Pantry is receiving a large delivery from Gleaner's Food Bank. Each of these days the Food Pantry is in need of 4 volunteers to unload the truck (about 4 pallets of food) and stock the pantry shelves.
The CUMC Food Pantry is a food distribution ministry which provides food to residents of Hamilton County, serving an average of 300 families each month.
Any person in need will be helped. The only qualification is that you must be a resident of Hamilton County. Please bring a picture ID and proof of residency. No financial questions are asked. Guests are asked to limit their visits to once a month.
Hours the Food Pantry is open:
Our Food Pantry is supported by donations of food and monetary gifts. Donations may be delivered any time and delivered directly to the Mission House. The delivery door is next to the garage door.
What you can do to help:
First we ask for prayers for those in need. Second, we ask for you to support this ministry by making a monetary donation, making a food donation or volunteering your time. Our Food Pantry needs approximately $3000 per month to keep the shelves stocked.
Items the Pantry Always Needs:
cereal, juice, paper products, personal products, peanut butter and crackers. Click here for a complete list of most-needed items.
Weather- Related Closing
We follow the lead of Carmel- Clay Schools to determine weather related closings. If Carmel Clay Schools are closed then the CUMC Food Pantry is closed. If Carmel Clay Schools are on a two- hour delay, the Food Pantry will remain open.
