The CUMC Food Pantry is a food distribution ministry for residents of Hamilton County. This ministry reaches the hungry in Hamilton County, serving over 300 families each month. The need is great, even in Hamilton County. 
Opportunities to serve at our Food Pantry:
1. Shoppers
2. Drivers with trucks to pick up orders at Gleaners and other collection points
3. Hosts to help our guests by connecting and praying with them

Hamilton County Kids Coats is a coat, boot and glove ministry held at CUMC each November. Throughout the year, CUMC and other area churches collect new and gently used coats, gloves, hats and boots and distributes them to children in need. Each year approximately 4000 coats are collected, washed, and distributed. The distribution date for 2013 is November 2 from 7 am-1pm. Fletcher Place is a Friday morning breakfast ministry at Fletcher Place shelter in downtown Indianapolis. This ministry reaches approximately 125 people each Friday morning. Mohawk Ministry Partnership is a program designed to share Christ's love in tangible ways and build relationships with our neighbors at Mohawk Hills Apartments. Soup's On is a Sunday hot lunch ministry at Roberts Park UMC in downtown Indianapolis. This ministry reaches and feeds approximately 250 people each Sunday. Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) is a metropolitan Indianapolis ministry in which CUMC (and several other churches of various denominations) provides temporary shelter and meals to homeless families.  Contact Dale Hughes at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Second Starts is a metropolitan Indianapolis ministry which provides gently-used household items to families who are transitioning from homelessness into a home of their own. For more information, go to www.secondstarts.org

 

Comfort Closet.  Collects/distributes new and gently used clothing/outerwear, new underwear, socks, shoes and boots to students in the following school districts: Carmel Clay, Hamilton Heights, Hamilton Southeastern, Noblesville, Westfield Washington, and Marion-Adams.  Need continues to grow in all areas. Contact Nicole at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Angel Tree Prison Ministry
At Christmas time, CUMC families provide gifts for children of incarcerated parents(s). Families choose an angel or two, shop for the kids and wrap the gifts. They are delivered a few weeks before Christmas to ensure that a prisoner's child(ren) receives gifts in the name of the incarcarated parent.
