Have you considered joining Carmel UMC as a full-member, but don't really understand what that means?  Carmel UMC follows that values that the United Methodist Church sets forth in "Why Membership Matters".  In all we do, we seek to share God's love and the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are sure that through membership you will follow the Carmel UMC Vision Statement and find opportunities to Connect with God and others, Grow in your faith and love through Biblical learning, and Serve our community and world, as followers of Jesus Christ.

Who can become a member of Carmel UMC? The short answer is ALL ARE WELCOME. There are 3 ways to become a member of Carmel UMC, all do require attendance at the Membership Orientation Class. Please also note that Baptism in a Methodist Church or a Christian Church is a requirement prior to acceptance of membership. If you haven't been Baptized, that sacrament can also be incorporated in the service when your membership is accepted.

  • Profession of Faith: If you have never been a member of a Christian church, you may become a member by affirming your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior
  • Reaffirmation of Faith: If you have been a member of a Christian church, but have not been active, you may join by reaffirming your belief and retaking your vows.
  • Transfer of Membership: If you are now a member of a nother United Methodist Church and wish to join Carmel UMC, a request to the UMC Conference can be made on your behalf to transfer your membership.

New Member Orientation Sessions are offered twice a year and run from 1 pm to approximately 4:30 pm. Childcare is available with 2 weeks' notice.
