Who We Are

The Vision of Carmel United Methodist Church is...

CONNECTING with God and others, GROWING in faith and love through Biblical learning, and SERVING our community and world as followers of Jesus Christ.

Ministry is...

the church's response to the mandate of the Great Commission:  "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”   (Matthew 28:19-20) In other words, "Go and do ministry with others in My name."

Ministry is...

going to be lived out differently from Church to Church even though all are responding to the Great Commission. A Church that prayerfully and faithfully spends time in discernment will discover the ministry to which God calls that church.

Ministry is...

accomplished by ministers. All Christians are also called ministers so are called to ministry. Ministry is accomplished daily when Christians seek opportunity to connect and serve those encountered in the daily walk of life. Ministry is accomplished also by the Body of Christ when working together in unity as to God's call.

Ministry is...

more importantly accomplished through the strength and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. God not only calls us to ministry but also equips us. Much of that equipping by God is through the gifts of the Holy Spirit given to every one of us. God's desire for us is to discover our Spiritual Gifts and use them in service to others.

Ministry is...

to glorify God always and in all places in all that we say and do.
