Moms Night Out-
Moms need a night out every one in a while! February 24 at 6:30pm here at the Church (in the kitchen), Tom Blessing from Fresh Artistry will be here to demonstrate the meals his company, Fresh Artistry, makes and the way that they are put together. We will sample some yummy food. Fresh Artistry delivers meal kits to help you eat out less, succeed at cooking, and bring your family together. Every ingredient you need is included and at your fingertips. Fresh Artistry is a local company with a local focus.  They source local ingredients when possible and only deliver to Indiana to maximize freshness. And you can customize your order with your choice of meat, the number of kits, and the option to add extra produce.  Skip the grocery store and spend more time with the ones you love. Nursing babies welcome, all other kids stay home , dads stay home too! It's just girls night!

Henderson Settlement Family Mission Trip 2016

CUMC will again be sending a mission team to Henderson Settlement near the Kentucky-Tennessee border in Appalachia leaving on Sunday, June11thand returning on Saturday, June 17th, or for ½ the week at the beginning or at the end of the week.   This will be the 16th Family Mission Trip since 2001 (missing only 2006 when we redirected our efforts for Katrina relief in Mississippi).  This trip is open to any men, women, teens and children interested in light construction, painting, cleaning and learning how God works through each of us to help those in need.
These trips offer the opportunity to learn basic life-skills while building on our relationship with God and other Christians.  Working, eating, sleeping, praying, playing and more eating side-by-side creates a bond that lasts forever.  If you are interested in finding out more about this trip you may contact Bob Phillips at either 844-5636 or  or Pastor Aj at
Easter Egg Hunt
The annual Carmel UMC Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 15 at 1pm (the day before Easter Sunday). Please consider taking some eggs to stuff or donating some candy for others to stuff them! You may drop off the candy in the children’s ministry hallway or by Pastor Aj’s office.
 Palm Sunday Parade
Come join us in the Palm Sunday Processional at the Palladium on April 9. The processional is open to children 3 years old through 5th grade. (Children 3 & 4 years old must be accompanied by a parent during the processional). There will be reserved seating for families who’s kids are participating. You will need to arrive at the Palladium by 10:00am and meet in the Founders Room. There is limited space, so sign up now!
Children’s Moments During Worship
Beginning Easter Sunday there will be two services at 9:30am- traditional worship in the sanctuary and contemporary worship in the FLC/Gym. Pastor Aj cannot be in 2 places at one time. So, I am looking for some other folks that would like to do a children’s moment in either of the services. Help with the format, how to present and anything else you wanted to know is available. It is a fun way to connect with kids the great love of God and worship at the same time. Please prayerfully consider this opportunity and email me, Pastor Aj today!
Ash Wednesday is February 1. There are 3 different opportunities to receive ashes. 6:30am to 9am we will have a drive through opportunity. Services will be at 12 noon and 6:30pm. There will be a children’s moment at 6:30pm.
VBS: June 25-29
Maker Fun Factory!

Imagine a world where curious kids become hands-on inventors who discover they're lovingly crafted by God. Spark creativity with interactive decoration and experiences.
VBS work  nights, Monday nights beginning in March and Saturday, April 22, May 6, 20 all from 9-12noon, and Friday night May 19 is movie night. We will be making robots, ant farms and building with gears, Legos and all kinds of fun things. Please come help and bring your kids kindergarten on up!

Music and Missions is Sunday nights- see our website to sign your kids up today!

Last but Not Least
We have some opportunities to assist some kids with special needs. If you have an interest in helping, please let me know.

Do you take your kiddos to worship? If so read this!
We are so happy to have you and your child in worship. Whether it is in the Sanctuary for traditional worship or in the FLC/gym for contemporary worship.
· Relax! God put the wiggle in children; we don’t need to suppress it in God’s house but please be courteous of those around by noiseless play.
· Sit near the front where it is easier for children to see and hear.
· Sing the hymns or songs, pray and voice the responses. Children learn behavior by copying you. Feel free to quietly explain the parts of the service.
If you find your child/toddler talking and unable to sit for the service, please feel free to leave the service at any time as you and others seated around you may be able to better worship. An usher or greeter can direct you to either the “Cry” room, childcare or the Gathering Space.
The “Cry “ room (123) is where you can change, feed and play with toys for your child and watch the service streaming both audio and video only for the traditional service.
Children 3 years (by 9/1) through 5th grade are invited to Sunday School after the Children’s Moment. They are to be picked up in their individual classrooms following the worship service. For the contemporary service at 11am, kids are brought back into the service at 11:55am.
Childcare is also available every Sunday in room 111 for infants, toddlers and preschool children. The greeters and ushers are happy to show you how to get there. The childcare room is staffed with adults who have been trained in CPR and early childhood best practices. These women have all been back ground checked and our ratio of children to adults is 1:3.
