Picnic & Praise

September 12

Please join us as we kick off our fall ministries on September 12th. We will have a combined service at 10:30AM in the Sanctuary. Then stay of a catered lunch outside (weather permitting).

What a great way to celebrate all the wonderful things going on at Carmel UMC!

Food Pantry Garden

Volunteer Sign-Up

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of volunteers, we’ve already distributed over 250 bags of herbs and 150 bags of assorted vegetables to our guests. Harvesting, weighing, bagging and tagging needs to happen almost every day.

Unfortunately we’re still fighting bugs, critters and weeds. Japanese beetles are our latest challenge. We need beetle busters!

Help is always welcome. These projects are great for families, groups and individuals alike. Complete instructions are available.

Fletcher Place

September 9

As expected, programs at Fletcher Place Community Center have changed as a result of the pandemic. Over the past 18 months they have found creative ways to serve clients and now, more than ever, want to make programs more collaborative with churches like ours.  As such, they are inviting all 35 Legacy UMC churches to a dinner event September 9th, hopefully getting input on mission goals and how Fletcher Place Community Center could better partner with individual churches to achieve those mission goals. If you would like to be a part of re-creating our relationship with Fletcher Place Community Center, please let Barb Marshall know at missions@carmelumc.org.

Hunger Walk

October 3

1PM│Dillion Park

Carmel United Methodist will participate with other churches in the newly established Hamilton County Hunger Walk (formerly known as CROP Walk). This year, 75% of all funds raised by the walk will go towards local food pantries in Hamilton County, while 25% will go towards international hunger relief. The walk (2K or 1.2 miles long) will take place at Dillon Park in Noblesville on Sunday, October 3rd at 1 pm. If you can't walk, you can still donate to the event. More information for signup and donations (via website) will become available later this summer/fall. Please contact Ed King (Edking722@gmail.com) for any questions.

Some of you, who have traveled with Operation Classroom to Sierra Leone, may have already met her. We are needing several volunteers to help with hosting and driving. Monday-Friday- 2 shifts available

Volunteers Needed!

We are trying something new and exciting in the church office and are hoping you are willing to help! We have such a welcoming congregation that we are hoping to recruit a cadre of volunteers to help staff the receptionist desk daily.

Duties include:

Being a friendly, welcoming face for CUMC

Answering the phone and directing calls as needed

Opening the door

Greeting guests and showing hospitality

Light computer work as needed based on your ability, computer skills aren’t required

All receptionist volunteers will be trained on the position via a training session held by the office staff & SPRC.  We are hoping congregation members would be willing to take a scheduled shift each week (i.e. Monday mornings or Friday afternoons) to help with consistency, just like the food pantry.

The shifts are Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 12:30 am and 12:00 - 4:00 pm.

If you are interested, please complete this form.
