YOUTHMINISTRY

Our purpose at Carmel United Methodist is to Glorify God by making disciples through students and families! Our desire is to teach students God’s Word, show them how to grow in their relationship with the Lord, and challenge them to reach their generation for Christ. We believe by having the involvement of parents in the discipleship of their children by spending time together in God’s Word, and placing biblical principles in their lives to live out (Deut. 6:1-9) will create student leaders that are passionate about living out their faith and have a desire to reach their community with the gospel.

YOUTHMINISTRY (6-12th grade)

Carmel UMC Youth Ministry equips and sends disciples who guide people toward Jesus one at a time.

INTERSECT

Every Sunday Night

 6-7:30PM

We will meet outside, with masks, if the weather is permitting. If the weather is bad, we will meet inside with specific guidelines to help enforce social distancing, no contact, low traffic flow, and other precautions that are necessary. Please help us out by reinforcing our policies.

CONFIRMATION EXPERIENCE

Every Sunday Morning

10:00-10:40AM

We have confirmation experience for 6-8th grade students. Students can participate and join in any and all of our CX6-8 years and our hope is to have students participate for all three years. Our hope is to really pour into students, give them meaningful experiences that bring the teachings of scripture to life in fun ways, and to send them out with weekly exercises and challenges to live out their faith daily. Contact Matt if you would like more information. msherrill@carmelumc.org

YOUTH COVID POLICY

COVID POLICIES:

We are doing everything we can to keep people safe and be able to still meet in person for as long as possible because we know how much better that is for everyone. We will need your help to make sure that we are not making things worse by spreading this virus, which can and does often appear  as asymptomatic in students.  Please Note: procedures and protocols are subject to change as the governing authorities and county health officials provide updated guidance. We appreciate your grace, understanding, and flexibility in these challenging times. With that said, listed below will be mandatory safety protocols and clear expectations regarding youth ministry for the fall semester in order to attend in person. :

For the health and safety of all students and leaders – parents are required to assist their children with a self screening for COVID-19 symptoms and fever before arriving to intersect, small groups, etc.

If anyone in your family is exposed to or tests positive for COVID-19, please keep your child home until there is either a negative test result or the two-week limit after exposure has passed without symptoms.

We recommend students eat dinner prior to arriving. If snacks and drinks are provided, we are recommending they be pre-packaged.

Students are required to wear masks. We also ask them to wear masks when social distancing is not possible. When outside, there will be times where masks can be removed when we can ensure distancing can be maintained.

Grow Groups are for students who are ready to go deeper in their faith as a disciple for Jesus Christ.

Connect Groups are easy entry ways to authentically connects with students and adults on a smaller scale than Intersect.

These are ongoing groups designed to connect students with each other and occasionally do some service projects together.
